Floral Collage Class 4 Jan Written By Sue Gibbins Floral Collage: from painting and cutting to repeat patterns using mixed media paper and digital techniques. I’ve chosen flowers as the subject for this class because petals and leaves are easy shapes to cut but with loads of scope for variety, and the techniques are very transferrable to other subject matter as well. This class is suitable for everyone. If you'd just like to dabble and have fun with materials then this class will absolutely be for you! The process is very open to a variety of media, and I show ways to use paints and hand-made stamps in the project. The only materials that are required to take the class are scissors, glue, some sort of paper and some way to colour the paper. We’ll have fun painting, cutting and composing a floral design. The project provides options to create a collage in the traditional sense, so a finished artwork stuck down on paper, or alternatively to digitise elements and make designs such as repeat patterns. Optional lessons include using Adobe Photoshop® to clean up motifs and make a repeat pattern. Pattern Preview, which is new to Photoshop 2021, is covered in class too. Just pick up the lessons that suit your needs and develop your project in whichever direction you prefer. Take the Class (There’s a FREE TRIAL with this link if you aren’t a member) Sue Gibbins
